Delhi's finest: 9 young minds from police families ace UPSC 2023

In a remarkable display of determination and excellence, nine children hailing from the families of Delhi Police officers have clinched success in the highly competitive UPSC civil service exams 2023.

Among the accomplished candidates are Srishti Dabas securing an impressive 6th rank, Rupal Rana at 26th position, and a cohort of other bright minds, including Manoj Kumar (Rank 120), Rhythm Anand (Rank 142), Buddhi Akhil (Rank 321), Udit Kadian (Rank 375), Anant Dhanraj Singh (Rank 147), Pratibha (Rank 356), and Naman Jain (Rank 676).

Delhi Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora, extended his heartfelt congratulations to the successful candidates and their families, acknowledging their dedication and perseverance in achieving this remarkable feat.

The achievement of Rupal Rana, daughter of ASI Jasvir Singh Rana serving at Tilak Marg police station of New Delhi district, shines bright as she managed to crack the exam despite losing her mother just a month before. This is a testament to her resilience and determination.

A congratulatory message was posted for her by the official X (formerly Twitter) handle of DCP New Delhi: "UPSC results are out & ASI Jasvir Rana's daughter Ms. Rupal Rana cracks it with rank 26, just a month after losing her mother. Her success is a testament to her resilience & her mom's legacy. Congratulations!!"

Pratibha, the 26-year-old daughter of ASI Jawahar, served as an assistant sub-inspector with the Delhi Police. After successfully clearing the the UPSC CSE 2023 examination, her aspiration is to join the IPS. She undertook self-preparation, guided by her brother, achieving an impressive all-India rank of 356.

Similarly, the success stories of candidates like Rhythm Anand, daughter of ACP Ratan Pal, Anant Dhanraj Singh, son of Joint CP Dheeraj Kumar, Srishti Dabas, daughter of ASI Sanjeev Dabas, Udit Kadian, son of ASI Pawan Kadian, and Manoj Kumar, Buddhi Akhil, and Naman Jain, children of DANIPS officers, underscore the unwavering commitment and support provided by their families in pursuing academic excellence.

The UPSC 2023 results revealed a total of 1016 triumphant candidates, marking a significant milestone in the journey towards serving the nation through civil services. The successful candidates represent diverse backgrounds, with 347 from the General category, 115 from EWS, 303 from OBC, 165 from SC, and 86 from ST categories.

Aditya Srivastava clinched the coveted All India Rank One, with Animesh Pradhan and Donuru Ananya Reddy securing second and third positions respectively.

The final rankings, based on a rigorous selection process encompassing a written examination and personality test, pave the way for appointments to esteemed services including the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS), and Central Services, Group A and B.
