Sanamacha Thingbaijam Chanu real inspiration, the gem in Indian weightlifting arena
Sanamacha Chanu (born 2 October 1978) is an Indian weightlifter who competed in the women's 53 kg weight class at the 2004 Summer Olympics. The 43 year old Chanu, is one of the most successful woman weightlifters in the country. She is an Arjuna awardee of the year 2000. She is from Imphal in Manipur state. Sanamacha Chanu shares her experiences and the path through which she had to travel to reach the success in her life. Her career in sports started at a very young age. The start of the weightlifting career in her life was in 1992, when she was 14 years old. Her teacher was the one who sow the seed of sports in her life.
