According to the sources, his parents Selvi and Kanniyappan from Asanampattu village in Odakathur allegedly found snake biting thier son’s hand in the wee hours of Thursday and rushed to the Odukathur Government Primary Health Centre. However, the PHC doctors advised them to take the baby to Vellore Government Medical College and Hospital for further treatment. But the infant succumbed to the snakebite on the way to hospital. “We had the necessary medicines for snake bites at the PHC, and we administered them to the baby. The activists of Sangh Parivar waylaid the vehicle at around 9 pm and assaulted the driver, Mohammed Ashique (22), presumably for the reason that the passenger was a Hindu girl, they said. According to officials, Chetan, who is presently in the custody of the Mumbai Government Railway Police (GRP), was grilled for questioning by the ATS for hours.
